Educational series

Camden Educational Series

The Camden Educational Series provides seminars and workshops on various technology-related topics. The instructors are staff members from the RU–Camden IT team. Workshops will be held online and are limited to a maximum of 20 people per session unless otherwise noted.

We also offer a variety of IT video tutorials with quick tips and instructions that can be accessed anytime.

Registration
Visit go.rutgers.edu/ed-series to register for a workshop. A confirmation will be sent to all registrants via email. Registrants will be notified in the event of a workshop change or cancellation.

Computer access
All workshops that make use of computer lab software require an active NetID. Visit the NetID website for information on creating an account and activating a NetID.

Rutgers Connect (Faculty and Staff Only)

Rutgers Connect, based on the Office 365 suite by Microsoft, is the central email, calendar and cloud services system for faculty and staff. This workshop will go over the basic functions of using Rutgers Connect. This workshop will demonstrate how to navigate the email interface, how to create calendar entries, how to share your calendar, how to share office 365 documents with other users and how to access other useful functions in Rutgers Connect. Attendees should make sure they know their current NetID and password so they can log in and follow along as features are demonstrated.

This class will be held in the Camden Administrative Building (CAB) at 25 N. 5th St.

Windows, Mac, iOS and Google: Getting to Know Your Devices

Introduction to Online Collaboration: WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams

Scanmark
Instructor: Help Desk staff

The Scanmark test scanner has the ability to scan multiple-choice tests and receive immediate results. In addition, a program called ParSCORE enables faculty to manage student records and data from their offices. This workshop will cover how to use QuickSCOREII and ParSCORE. Enrollment is limited to six people per session and will be scheduled by emailing edseries@camden.rutgers.edu.

Classroom technology demonstrations

The demonstration covers the fundamentals of using classroom equipment which includes HD projectors, control panels that can be controlled over the network, in-room cameras for recording classes, a LCD display at each room’s door listing classes and events taking place in the room, and an AppleTV which can display presentations and video sent wirelessly from an iOS device.
