The Camden Educational Series provides seminars and workshops on various technology-related topics. The instructors are staff members from the RU-Camden Information Technology team. Workshops will be held online and are limited to a maximum of 20 people per session unless otherwise noted.

Registration

Email edseries@camden.rutgers.edu to register for a workshop. Make sure to include your name, NetID, phone number and workshop name. An online invite will be sent to all registrants via email. Registrants will be notified in the event of a seminar change or cancellation.

Computer Access

Rutgers Connect (Faculty and Staff Only)

Rutgers Connect, based on the Office 365 suite by Microsoft, is the new central email, calendar and cloud services system for faculty and staff. This workshop will go over the basic functions of using Rutgers Connect. This workshop will demonstrate how to navigate the email interface, how to create calendar entries, how to share your calendar, how to share office 365 documents with other users and how to access other useful functions in Rutgers Connect. Attendees should make sure they know their current NetID and password so they can log in and follow along as features are demonstrated.

Did you know that Word 2016 can open and edit PDFs? Or that you can get the current weather from Outlook? You can also record video tutorials with PowerPoint in order to share instructions with your colleagues. This training class will demonstrate the new features of Office 2016 to maximize the advantages of the upgrade from Office 2010.It will also include an introduction to Forms and Teams.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2016

In this Introduction to Microsoft Excel training class, participants will create and edit basic worksheets and workbooks. This course is designed for those who want to learn skills needed to create, edit, format and print basic Microsoft Excel worksheets.

Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel 2016

This Intermediate Microsoft Excel training class is for participants who want to advance their skill set by learning to work with formulas, lists and illustrations. The class will also work with charts and advanced formatting, including styles. The advanced portion of this class will touch on topics of macros, VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

Cisco Webex is a real-time video, voice, and chat communications software platform. It enables users to host and participate in virtual meetings with two or more people securely from anywhere with a reliable internet connection. Zoom

Scanmark

The Scanmark test scanner has the ability to scan multiple-choice tests and receive immediate results. In addition, a program called ParSCORE enables faculty to manage student records and data from their offices. This workshop will cover how to use QuickSCOREII and ParSCORE. Enrollment is limited to six people per session and will be scheduled by emailing edseries@camden.rutgers.edu.

Enhanced Classroom Demonstrations (Faculty Only)

The demonstration will cover the fundamentals of using the upgraded standard enhanced classroom equipment. The recent upgrades have included new HD projectors, replacement of the Control Panels with ones that can be controlled over the network, a camera in the room for recording classes, a LCD display at each room’s door listing classes and events taking place in the room and an AppleTV for wireless sending presentations and video from an iPad.
