UPDATE (11:40pm 3/4/15): Shortly after 11:30 pm on March 4, 2015, the disruption of DNS service between external networks and the Rutgers network was confirmed to have ended.

As of approximately 8:45 pm on March 4, 2015, a disruption of DNS service, which resolves the names of Rutgers servers into their unique numerical network addresses, is causing connection problems for those trying to reach Rutgers from the Internet. The internal DNS services at Rutgers appear to be functioning normally, despite the external problem. This issue has been observed university-wide and the Rutgers University Network Operations Center has been alerted. Staff are working on identifying the cause of the problem and getting it resolved as quickly as possible.
